Thermax Gets OSHPD Approval

SOUTH DARTMOUTH, MA – October 11, 2002

Thermax, Inc has received approval from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) in California for the use of Thermax vaporizers in hospital facilities. OSHPD regulations dictate that some existing hospitals and new hospital construction undergo seismic evaluation procedures. Thermax vaporizers have successfully passed the rigorous seismic examination and received OSHPD pre-approval for oxygen vaporizers in hospital facilities.

The OSHPD pre-approval means facilities using the approved Thermax vaporizers do not have to spend the money and time to get approval on a project by project basis. The approved vaporizers include low pressure aluminum constructed vaporizers as well as stainless steel lined high pressure vaporizers. Bill Everett, Vice President of Thermax, commented, “Thermax is a customer oriented company. We expended the resources for OSHPD pre-approval to save our customers time and money. This gives the bulk oxygen system suppliers one less thing to worry about.”
